SCG Begin ICT Title Defence

Sussex College of Golf got off to a flying start in their defence of the Intercollegiate Tour (ICT) title which they won in May 2009.

The 8-man team came joint first along with Brockenhurst, both posting overall scores of 437, at the first round of the 2010 competition held at Chichester.  Other teams taking part were Chichester 'A' - 465, Worthing - 466, Chichester 'B' - 486 and Angmering - 587. 

SCG was represented by Tom Aspital (4), Matt Chapman (-1), Ross Crockett (-1), Alex Dixon (0), Joe Harper (-1), Stephen Payne (3), Alfie Plant (0) and Matt Smissen (1).

The ICT was set up last year and over 30 colleges and schools signed up to take part in the first year's tour.  The tour is split into 5 areas with either 5 or 6 teams in each area. Each school/college host one event each to produce a team winner for each area.  Alongside the team event runs an Individual Order of Merit.

The top 10 from each area in the Individiaul Order of Mert are invited to play in a 2 day event.  The top 10 from this competition become the year's ICT team to play against either the England Under 18 team or a US college team.

The next round will be played on 21 October at Ham Manor.
