Students Qualify for English Amateur Championship

Yesterday two former students of The Golf College successfully qualified for the Matchplay stages of the English Amateur Championship being held at Frilford Heath Golf Club.

64 & ties progressed through to the matchplay stages after 2 rounds of qualifying golf over the Red & Blue courses.

Rob Prior shot 68, 72 to finish on -4 and in 23rd position, with Alex Dixon shooting 73, 68 to finish -3 and in 27th. Both players will now progress to the matchplay stages with 18 holes played on each day with the final being played over 36 holes.

Other qualifiers also include the Silver Medal winner of the Open Championship Matthew Fitzpatrick as well as last week’s Carris Trophy winner Ben Amor.
